Fire Alarm Systems
A building system is designed to detect and alert occupants and emergency forces of the presence of smoke, fire, carbon monoxide, or other fire-related emergencies. This system is required in commercial buildings and may include smoke detectors, heat detectors, and manual fire alarm activation devices, all of which are connected to a Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) typically located in an electrical or panel room. Visual and audio signalization are generally used to warn building occupants. In addition, some fire alarm systems may disable elevators, which are typically unsafe to use during a fire.
